If you’re looking for something that screams elegant for your ballroom wedding look no further. The Cactus Hotel, previously The Hilton Hotel in the 1920’s is a San Angelo staple in the downtown area offering elegant accommodations for San Angelo brides and grooms. The Cactus Hotel still stands as the tallest building in San Angelo offering magnificent views from the top of The Cactus on the 15th floor. The hotel does not offer overnight accommodations anymore but instead serves as a hub for a few local businesses, apartments and approximately 6 great areas to host your wedding or any other special event.

The Cactus Hotel offers 6 different areas to host your ceremony, reception and other parts of your day. But in my time working this venue I have found most brides opt for a combo fo The Lobby and The Ballroom.

The Lobby is probably the most popular area for wedding ceremonies as it offers beautiful natural light that shines through the magnificent windows on the ceiling. Most brides choose to get married at the base of the grand staircase, front and center in front of up to 200 guests.

The Ballroom is another popular area of the hotel for weddings and events and rightly so as you can pack up to 350 people in this elegant room. Most brides opt to use The Ballroom for their reception but is just as suitable to hold a ceremony as well. During the day, The Ballroom is beautifully lit with photo worthy natural light which comes in through 6, yes 6 floor to ceiling windows. At night, you can expect gorgeous warm light from 3 large beautiful crystal chandeliers.

The 4 other rooms offered can be used in different ways depending on your own custom setup:

The Green Room - Most often used as the brides getting ready room

The Meeting Room - Often used as the grooms getting ready room which is then at times used as an area to hold the bar and or food depending on your set up.

The Mezzanine - Looks over the gorgeous lobby and is another versatile area which can used to seat extra guest for dinner, buffet line, bar, photo booth and or cake cutting.

Top of the Cactus - Located on the 15th floor this area is more ideal for smaller weddings or your reception. This space holds up to 120 people.
